The worst thing you can do to yourself is to watch the first four episodes (that were leaked) of GoT in one go and then wait for the fifth. I am ashamed of being part of the violation of copyrights but everything is fair when it comes to GoT.
Here is my two cents on the latest from Westeros and the North. Don’t worry I will keep it spoiler free for those who have only seen the first episode.
Halfway through the first episode I realized that the sets seem grander and more appealing (to the eyes) and Cersei’s garb seemed more attractive than before. The new crew is paying more attention to detail and technique after all GoT is more about CGI than story.
The first episode is probably the slowest, of all first episodes, but it does fulfill its purpose – it tells us what everyone has been up to; and leaves us with the curiosity about what is to come.
I must say that the flashback from Cersei’s childhood seemed out of the blue. And now that the writer has started digging the past of Lannisters I am curious if there are any flashbacks from Tyrion’s traumatic childhood.
Tell me is it just me or other people can also notice the increasing potential in Sansa. A lot is expected from her and her half brother – Jon Snow. Putting a spear through Mance’ heart is just the first of many surprises Jon has for us. Is he going to make it to the iron throne (does anyone remember Daenerys’s vision – she was at the wall and then saw the iron throne, snowing all over it)?
The timing of cousin Lancel’s return, as a devout man, couldn’t be more surprising. Given his history with Robert and Cersei I can only expect trouble.
Finally, with Tyrion on his way to meet Daenerys I want my favorite Lannister to do well and stay alive, anything else will be a big disappointment. Also is he ever going to meet Sansa again? Should he? What is Littlefinger has in mind? And what is to become of Arya?
Most of these questions will be answered in the next three episodes.
